Bethlehem Jericho Group Tour ITINERARY

This Bethlehem and Jericho tour begins as we pass the Inn of the Good Samaritan, linked to one of Jesus’ most well-known parables. We travel through the Judean Desert alongside Wadi Kelt, where you can see the 5th-century Monastery of St. George built into the cliffs. We make a short stop at the sea level sign before continuing down to Jericho.

In Jericho, you will hear stories from both the Old and New Testaments. Learn how the walls of Jericho fell when Joshua led the Israelites around the city. See the Zacchaeus’ Sycamore Tree. The Zacchaeus’ Sycamore Tree is one of the most meaningful biblical sites in Jericho, connected to the New Testament story where Zacchaeus climbed a tree to see Jesus as He entered the city.  The sycamore tree stands at a central point in Jericho. The tree is over 2,000 years old, and it stands in the same area described in the Gospel account, allowing visitors to reflect on the moment when Zacchaeus encountered Jesus.

From the area, you can also view the Mount of Temptation, where Jesus spent forty days in the wilderness.

Leaving Jericho, we travel to Bethlehem, the town where Jesus was born over 2,000 years ago. The visit begins in Manger Square, followed by entry into the Church of the Nativity. Inside, you will see the Grotto of the Nativity, where Jesus was born. Inside the Grotto of the Nativity, you will see a 14-point silver star set into the stone floor. This star marks the exact traditional spot where Jesus was born. As you step into the grotto, the space becomes quiet and intimate, lit softly by hanging lamps.

Next, we visit the nearby Church of St. Catherine. Beneath the church, we enter an ancient cave where St. Jerome translated the Bible into Latin. We then leave Bethlehem and pass the Shepherds’ Field, where angels announced Jesus’ birth to shepherds, as described in the Bible.

The tour also includes a visit to Qasr el Yahud on the Jordan River. This is the traditional site where John the Baptist baptized Jesus and where visitors can access the river today. It is also believed to be the place where the Israelites crossed into the Promised Land.

The day concludes with a safe and comfortable transfer back to your pickup location.

The tour is subject to Palestinian authority regulations. Change of vehicles required during the tour. Bethlehem part guided by local Palestinian guide only. Passports mandatory  – required on the tour day.

Wonderful day with Avi

★★★★★
“ Avi was absolutely wonderful!! We had such a great day with him visiting Masada, Ein Gedi, and the Dead Sea. He was kind, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable, and he made the whole experience feel easy, interesting, and fun. He adapted perfectly to our family and kept our two kids engaged, even in the heat. He always knew where to stop, where to find shade, and how to share the history in a way that was fascinating but never too heavy. His car was also very comfortable, which made the long drive to and from Tel Aviv so much easier. It was a long, hot day, but it went by so fast because we were having such a good time. We would absolutely book Avi again and are already looking forward to more adventures with him!”

Amazing experience!

★★★★★
“ I had an amazing experience at the Dead Sea and Masada tour, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Enrique. He was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much fascinating history throughout the entire trip you could tell he genuinely loves what he does and knows the subject inside and out. Enrique was extremely kind, welcoming, and friendly from start to finish. He made everyone feel comfortable and taken care of, and his hospitality really stood out. The whole experience felt organized, fun, and personal because of him. If you’re thinking about doing a Dead Sea and Masada tour, I highly recommend it and if you get Enrique as your guide, you’re in great hands.”

Both sites are incredible, tour guides are very friendly and knowledgeable, accommodations are excellent and food is delicious.
